
How to make the most out of your KidsCrave Yoga Kit:
Location
You can practice inside or out. Try and select a spot that is free of most distractions. Try to designate one area as your childs special Yoga place. Decide where to keep their equipment (KidsCrave Kit or other individual items), so they know where to find it anytime they want to practice.
Time
Select the best time for your child. Practicing Yoga in the morning is a great way to wake up and feel energized. Practicing Yoga right before bed is a great way to help our children wind down and prepare them for a good nights sleep. And anytime in between works just as well. Sometimes taking little breaks throughout their day to practice a pose or a breathing exercise is a positive way to stay focused and lively. It is a good idea not to practice Yoga on a really full stomach. Trying a light snack about an hour before seems to work well for most.
What to Wear
Yoga is practiced in bare feet. Have your kiddos wear nonrestrictive, comfortable clothes
Get Moving
The most important thing your child can do while practicing Yoga is to have fun! Exploring their imagination while moving their bodies with no boundaries will keep your kids relaxed and stress-free.
Relaxation
Sometimes children struggle to close their eyes and lay still for any amount of time, while others really enjoy it. It is perfectly normal if your child wants to skip this part all together. As your child practices more, the more he or she will look forward to the final relaxation at the end of every practice. Sometimes having a blanket nearby so they can cover themselves makes this a much more enjoyable experience for them. Let them naturally find out what works for them.
If your kids try yoga a couple of times and don’t really seem interested, that is okay. We don’t want to push our kids to like something they really don’t have any interest in, even if we feel like the benefits are valuable. Just like adults, our kid’s interests change as we grow. We can always re-introduce our kids to yoga at a later date or maybe even try it with them – you may be pleasantly surprised to find out how fun it feels to be a kid again.
